George Muradov took part in OSCE meeting
Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea - Permanent
Representative of the Republic of Crimea to the President of the Russian Federation George Muradov took part in the OSCE meeting on freedom of expression, Media and information, which was held on June 23, 2020 in online mode.
In his speech, the permanent Representative expressed concern about
derusification of all spheres of public life in Ukraine, Latvia and Estonia, where
the Russian-speaking population ranges from 30% to 50% and is indigenous.
“We call on these countries to follow the example of the Russian Crimea, where, along with Russian, Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar became the official languages,
presented in the system of public education and mass media, are held
Historical and religious holidays of national communities”, - said
During his speech, the permanent Representative of Crimea called on human rights structures OSCE to investigate violations of freedom of expression, receiving
information in Russian and reprisals against the media (closing TVC, radio
“Sputnik”, 1 Baltic channel).
“We have repeatedly stressed on this platform that anti-rusism in the information and the language sphere is a new form of racism, " G.Muradov said.
The event was also attended and made presentations on ensuring the right to self-expression, the implementation of the principles of media freedom and equal access to information on the example of the Republic of Crimea Crimean public figures and journalists M.Volkonskaya, E. Bairov, A. Gridchina, A. Makar.
